Every year in Africa, 40 billion hours are spent walking to gather water. Despite this continuous effort, a horrifying number of people lose their lives to unsafe drinking water each day. We want to put a dent in those numbers by teaming up with Charity: Water. And you can help.
On Friday 6/29, we're throwing a party at FRED Wildlife Refuge on Capitol Hill. We're inviting people from our favorite communities to come out and party like heathens. Mingle and shake your tail feather with people from the startup world, design and UX'ers, bicycle punks, social media mavens, social impact and nonprofits, and local musicians. The goal is to raise $5,000. This is enough to bring water (typically through a well) to a community that doesn't have access to clean water.
We'd love to see you whether or not you're able to make a donation. That said, we hope you consider putting aside the cost of a drink and helping us reach our goal.

Chuks is a Seattle technology entrepreneur who spent his childhood in Nigeria. He will share his first hand experiences about living without reliable access to clean water and the impact that access to clean water has on communities. Chuks will talk about how his experience were a catalyst to create his social impact startup, Personify.
